This high-energy journalism Amazing Race activity is the perfect way to introduce basic journalism concepts while helping students build relationships during the first day or first week of school. Instead of beginning the year with a traditional lecture, students work in teams to complete journalism-inspired challenges, solve problems, discuss important ideas, and learn more about your course.

Designed to fit within one class period, this engaging journalism team-building activity includes three challenges, one Roadblock, and one Detour. Students stay active and involved while practicing communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and time management.
